MX Lookup

Look up a domain’s mail servers, priorities, and cached DNS TTLs.

Enter the exact domain or subdomain. Do not include https:// or a path.

Public DNS lookup from this server. Enter international names in punycode.

What is an MX record?

An MX record identifies a domain’s incoming mail server. Lower preference numbers are tried first; equal preferences can share delivery.

What does a result mean?

The table shows each mail server, its priority, and the remaining cached TTL in seconds. An MX target of . with priority 0 is a null MX: the domain declares that it does not accept email.

Does no MX mean email cannot arrive?

Not always: SMTP may fall back to the domain’s address records. A lookup does not test whether the destination mail server is reachable or accepts messages.

After changing mail providers, compare results with the provider’s instructions. Use DNS Lookup to inspect related records.
